This is a simple way to reset the counter in Hotkey-Z program.
When I downloaded it from a local bbs, I used it about 3 times them
got this message telling me to wait 10 seconds and if this was
registered it wouldn't have to wait, well I never got to use it very
much to see if I liked it or not, so I figured out his way of keeping
track, no biggie, when run the program checks offset byte 912A of it's
self, it then also checks if it's read only file or if the disk is write
protected (if it is it will abort) anyhow offset 912A keeps a hex count
on the number of times the program has been run, when it gets to aprox
60 it will start displaying the message wait 10seconds, anyhow all this
patch does is reset the counter to 0 and then you can run the program
over a 100 times before it will start the guilt ware stuff... This is a
pretty nice shareware program, please don't abuse this patch to avoid
contributing to the author, lets keep shareware alive.
To use this patch, put the .bat files in the current directory as
hotkey-z, also put the file fix there also, make sure debug is there or
in your current path (path c:\dos ) or wherever debug is. Enter go then
enter debug <fix then enter fix.. i'm not a expert at batch files and
couldn't figure out why I couldn't get debug to work from a batch file
but I couldn't so you must use this lame way, sorry.. maybe i'l learn
batch later.
